"I have been employed with Sterling Construction Corp. for just over two years. My current position is Contracts Administrator. The thing that I appreciate most about Sterling is the “Open Door” policy that is practiced by all of the management throughout the company. It is very reassuring knowing that your comments and ideas are always welcome. It is also great knowing that I don’t have to feel apprehensive about going to anyone with a problem as well. I feel that Sterling is set apart from the competition by the sense of loyalty and the familial connection that all of its employees have. When I first became employed by Sterling I noticed right away the warm welcoming atmosphere and the sense of respect among its entire staff.
Within the first few months of my employment at Sterling, I was given the task of contacting all of the subcontractors and vendors, over one hundred, on a very large project, in order to obtain their final documents. At first I was overwhelmed due to the large number of companies that I had to get in touch with and the fact that I was coming on at the very end of the project. But with the help of several other people in different departments and a lot of determination, I was able to accomplish the task. It was very refreshing to work with people that were more than willing to help out a new staff member. I also appreciated all of the praise that I received, even when I thought that I wasn’t performing at my best. I have not experienced this kind of work atmosphere at any other place that I have been employed."
