Much of our specialization lies in multi- family projects we build for many prominent national companies including our parent company, The Sterling Group, Inc. Our experience encompasses Affordable Housing, Class A Multi-Family Housing, Mid-Rise, Garden-Style, and Mixed-Use projects.
Our commitment is to exceed the expectations of our customers’ to position them to achieve their investment goals. To meet their needs, we have built a variety of unique product types, including small to large two- or three-story garden style, one- to four-story townhomes, condominiums, residential/retail mix-use renovation. Our experience has taken use to both urban and suburban locations.
Senior Housing makes up a significant portion of our portfolio of work. Our expertise and collaborative style allows us to bring consensus and action to multi-constituent customer groups. Our experience includes low-income and market rate independent living facilities which incorporate a host of amenity spaces including, but not limited to commercial kitchens, libraries, computer labs, laundry spaces, barber shops, and doctor clinics.
Off Campus Student Housing
Student Housing is one of our services. We understand the unique nature of these communities and deliver such projects with the speed and quality levels that are required. Our relationship with trade contractors enables quick starts, flexible scheduling and management, resulting in completions ahead of schedule. We are well versed in the unique aspects of off-campus student housing including data integration with the local academic institutions and various funding requirements (e.g. LEED certification, E-Star certification, Davis Bacon requirements, federal bidding requirements, executive order needs, etc…).

We have applied this philosophy throughout our extensive light commercial experience with our mixed-use developments which includes, tenant improvement coordination of white box commercial spaces. Additionally, Sterling Construction specializes in the construction management of self-storage facilities throughout the Midwest.
Sterling Construction has performed all aspects of renovations within the multifamily and storage spaces. Our resume includes everything from light capital improvements to full building demolition and replacement. We have performed light upgrades in occupied high-rise facilities, complete rehabilitation of an 80-year-old historic high-rise building utilizing a multitude of financing sources each carrying with it different compliance requirements.
